Uttar Pradesh Congress chief says high command's decision on SP alliance is final

The head of the Uttar Pradesh Congress party has publicly stated that the high command has concluded its deliberations on a potential alliance with the Samajwadi Party. According to the statement, the decision reached by the senior leadership is final and leaves no scope for further discussion. The announcement was reported by Tripuratimes, which quoted the state chief without providing additional details about the terms of the decision. This development comes amid ongoing political calculations ahead of upcoming electoral contests in the state. The Congress party in Uttar Pradesh is expected to align its strategy based on this definitive stance.

The declaration underscores the centralised decision‑making process within the Congress, where the national high command retains ultimate authority over alliance considerations. Party officials and observers are now assessing how this final verdict will influence the dynamics of opposition politics in Uttar Pradesh, particularly in relation to the Samajwadi Party's own electoral plans.

No further comments were offered by the Congress leadership, and the party has not indicated any immediate next steps following the finalisation of its position on the alliance.
