US Congressman JD Vance has called on Iran to reduce its nuclear enrichment program as a precondition for ending the conflict and reopening the Strait of Hormuz, following recent exchanges of proposals between the two countries.

In a statement released on Tuesday, US Representative JD Vance urged Iran to cut its nuclear enrichment activities as a key step toward ending the ongoing conflict and reopening the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

Vance said that the United States and Iran have exchanged proposals in recent weeks aimed at resolving the dispute, but the US remains firm that any agreement must include a reduction in enrichment levels.

The Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant portion of the world's oil passes, has been a focal point of tension since the 1979 revolution.

Vance added that the US is prepared to engage in further diplomatic talks if Iran takes concrete steps toward limiting its enrichment program.

Analysts say that the call comes amid growing pressure on Iran to comply with international sanctions and to ease tensions in the Persian Gulf.
