U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gor arrived at the Mahajan Field Firing Range in Bikaner on Thursday to inspect the ongoing Indo‑US joint military drill titled “War Exercise 2026”. The visit was part of a scheduled review of the exercise, allowing the ambassador to see the live training activities first‑hand.
The exercise, conducted on the desert terrain of Rajasthan, brings together infantry, artillery and support units from both nations. Soldiers from India and the United States conduct coordinated maneuvers, live‑fire drills and tactical simulations aimed at enhancing interoperability and sharing best practices.
During his tour, Ambassador Gor met with senior Indian defence officials and senior U.S. military representatives, receiving a briefing on the exercise’s objectives, schedule and safety protocols. He expressed satisfaction with the level of coordination displayed by the participating troops.
The drill underscores the deepening defence partnership between New Delhi and Washington, reflecting a broader strategic alignment that has accelerated in recent years through joint training, equipment exchanges and maritime cooperation.
