Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the state will develop the Braj region on the same lines as the religious tourism hubs of Ayodhya and Kashi.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the state government will undertake a comprehensive development programme for the Braj region, modelling it after the recent upgrades in Ayodhya and Kashi. The proposal aims to boost religious tourism, improve infrastructure and create employment opportunities for local communities.

The CM highlighted that the Ayodhya and Kashi projects have transformed those cities into major pilgrimage and cultural hubs, and a similar approach will be applied to Braj, which includes the historic towns of Mathura and Vrindavan. He said the plan will focus on renovating temples, enhancing road connectivity, upgrading public amenities and promoting heritage conservation.

While specific timelines and funding details were not disclosed, officials indicated that the initiative will be coordinated with the Ministry of Tourism and relevant state departments. The announcement reflects the government's broader strategy to leverage Uttar Pradesh's rich spiritual heritage for economic growth.
