The University of Hyderabad has improved its global standing, entering the 801–1000 band in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027.
The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has moved up to the 801–1000 band in the 2027 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, marking a significant improvement in its global standing.
In the previous edition, UoH was positioned in the 1001–1200 band, reflecting a steady growth trajectory over recent years. The jump to the higher band is attributed to strong research output, increased international collaborations, and a growing reputation in science and technology disciplines.
University officials highlighted the role of sustained investment in faculty development and infrastructure, noting that the institution’s focus on interdisciplinary research has attracted more citations and international students.
The ranking update comes as part of THE’s annual assessment, which evaluates universities on teaching, research, citations, industry income, and international outlook. UoH’s climb is seen as a milestone for higher education in the region.
