Union Minister G. Selja criticised the Haryana administration for a sharp increase in cyber‑crime incidents and for not clearing pending dues to farmers, urging immediate action.

During a recent press briefing, Union Minister G. Selja raised concerns about a noticeable surge in cyber‑crime reports originating from Haryana. He said the spike in online fraud, hacking and other digital offences is alarming and requires swift governmental response.\n\nSelja highlighted that the state's cyber‑crime cell has been overwhelmed with cases, stressing that unchecked digital offences erode public trust and can have severe economic repercussions. He called for stronger investigative capacities, better coordination with central agencies, and faster resolution of complaints.\n\nIn the same address, Selja drew attention to the long‑standing issue of pending payments to farmers in the state. He noted that many cultivators are still awaiting dues promised under various agricultural schemes, and that the delay compounds the distress already caused by cyber‑related scams targeting them.\n\nThe minister urged the Haryana government to expedite the release of farmer funds while simultaneously bolstering its cyber‑security infrastructure. He asked state officials to appear before the parliamentary committee for a detailed briefing on both matters.
