Union Minister L. Murugan urged film producers and directors to resume shooting in Jammu & Kashmir, highlighting the region's fully prepared infrastructure.
Union Minister L. Murugan, speaking at a recent press interaction, appealed to film makers across India to consider Jammu & Kashmir as a viable shooting destination, asserting that the region now boasts a ready‑made infrastructure for film production.
He pointed out that in recent months the government has upgraded studios, streamlined location‑clearance procedures and set up dedicated support teams to assist crews, making the state attractive for both Bollywood and regional cinema projects.
The minister added that renewed film activity would not only showcase the valley's natural beauty but also generate employment and boost tourism, urging producers to explore the now‑secure and accessible locales.
He assured that the tourism and police departments are prepared to provide logistical help and robust security arrangements for any film unit operating in the area.
Murugan's invitation comes as the Indian film industry looks for fresh backdrops post‑pandemic, and officials hope Jammu & Kashmir can re‑emerge as a preferred filming hub.
