Two brothers were running an unlicensed fireworks warehouse from their home and selling the items on social media. Police pretended to be a buyer, confirmed the address and seized around ₹10 million worth of explosives.

Ujjain police uncovered an illegal fireworks operation run by two brothers who had converted a part of their residence into a storage depot. The duo advertised the sale of firecrackers on social media platforms, providing a contact number for prospective buyers.

Acting on a tip, investigators called the advertised number, posed as a customer, and verified the location through the caller. Once the address was confirmed, a team of officers executed a raid on the premises.

During the operation, law enforcement seized fireworks and related materials estimated to be worth about ten million rupees. The seizure underscores the authorities' focus on curbing unlicensed sale of explosives, especially ahead of festive seasons.

The brothers have been taken into custody for violating licensing norms and for possessing prohibited explosive items. Further legal action is expected as the case proceeds through the judicial system.

The incident highlights the growing use of social media for illicit trade and the need for vigilant monitoring by police to prevent potential hazards.
