Ujjain: Devotees Flock to Special Bhasma Aarti of Mahakal with Silver Adornments

On Tuesday morning, during the Bhasma Aarti on the fifth day of the bright half of Bhadrapad, Baba Mahakal was adorned with a silver crown, rudraksha mala and flowers. Devotees thronged to witness the deity's divine form.
The special Bhasma Aarti was performed at the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain on the morning of Bhadrapad Shukla Panchami, which fell on a Tuesday this year. The ritual, known for its ash offerings, was conducted with elaborate decorations.
Baba Mahakal was adorned with a silver crown, a garland of rudraksha beads, and fresh flowers, while a silver mund mala decorated the deity's forehead. The adornment highlighted the divine splendor of the lord on this auspicious day.
Large numbers of devotees gathered early to have darshan of the adorned idol, chanting hymns and offering prayers. The atmosphere was filled with devotion as the aarti proceeded with traditional chants and the sound of bells.
