Ujjain Celebrates Rangpanchami with Vibrant Colours

Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, observed Rangpanchami with streets awash in powdered hues. Residents and visitors gathered at key locations such as the Mahakaleshwar Temple and the banks of the Shipra River, where they tossed gulal, sang folk songs and performed customary rites. The festival, which marks the fifth day after Holi, is traditionally associated with the worship of Lord Krishna and the celebration of spring. Local authorities reported that the celebrations proceeded peacefully, with police deploying personnel to manage crowds and ensure traffic flow. Vendors capitalised on the occasion, setting up stalls selling sweets, traditional snacks and colorful powders, adding a festive commercial dimension to the cultural event.
