During the counting of Udaipur municipal polls and the election of mayor and deputy mayor, authorities issued a Section 163 order prohibiting victory processions, fireworks and inflammatory slogans to maintain law and order.
The counting of votes for the Udaipur municipal corporation and the simultaneous election of the mayor and deputy mayor were conducted under heightened security measures. Election officials completed the tally and announced the results while ensuring that the process remained transparent.
In response to potential public disturbances, the district administration invoked Section 163 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, issuing a prohibitory order that bars any victory procession, the use of fireworks, and the chanting of provocative slogans. The directive aims to pre‑empt communal tension and maintain public order during the sensitive post‑counting period.
Police forces have been instructed to enforce the order strictly, and any violation could result in immediate legal action. Political parties and supporters have been asked to comply with the restrictions while expressing their views through peaceful means.
