Udaipur's Anti‑Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested JN Sagar Meena, an employee of the Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (AVVNL), on charges of demanding a bribe for a household electricity connection. According to the investigation, Meena had already collected Rs 5,000 and was caught on Monday receiving the remaining Rs 10,000 at the AVVNL office.
The ACB officials said the transaction was recorded on surveillance cameras, and the accused was apprehended with the cash in hand. The bureau has launched a formal inquiry into the incident and is reviewing the internal controls of the electricity board to prevent similar corruption.
