Two Veteran Congress Leaders, Banshilal Gandhi and Nasir Qureshi, Pass Away in Ratlam, MP

In Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, two senior Congress figures have died, bringing the party’s local leadership to a state of mourning. Banshilal Gandhi, who earlier served as the president of the Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress, was known for his close association with the late Sanjay Gandhi. Nasir Qureshi, a sitting municipal councilor in the Ratlam Nagar Nigam, also passed away on the same day.

Gandhi’s tenure as youth congress president was marked by efforts to mobilise young voters and strengthen the party’s grassroots network in the state. His proximity to Sanjay Gandhi was frequently highlighted in party circles, underscoring his influence within the Congress hierarchy.

Qureshi, representing a ward in Ratlam’s municipal body, was recognised for his work on local civic issues and his active participation in council deliberations. Both leaders were respected across party lines for their long‑standing service.

Party officials and fellow legislators expressed condolences, describing the deaths as a significant loss for the Congress cadre in Madhya Pradesh. Tributes emphasized their dedication to public service and urged party members to continue their legacy.
