Two Teenagers Drown at Ganga Ghats in Patna During Karmapooja Ritual

Three youths entered the Ganga at the Post Office Ghat in Patna’s Badh police area after an idol immersion; two teenagers drowned while one survived, CCTV captured the incident.
The Post Office Ghat on the banks of the Ganga in Patna's Badh police jurisdiction became the scene of a tragic drowning during a Karmapooja ceremony. After the ritual immersion of a deity idol, three young men stepped into the river for a ritual bath. Within moments, the water turned perilous and two of the teenagers were pulled under.
Rescue teams from the district administration and local police arrived promptly after the incident was reported. They managed to pull one of the youths to safety, but the other two could not be revived despite immediate medical attention at the nearby hospital.
CCTV footage from a nearby shop captured the sequence of events, showing the three youths walking into deep water and the subsequent struggle. Authorities have opened an inquiry to determine whether strong currents or other factors contributed to the rapid submergence, and they have urged the public to observe safety guidelines during river rituals.
