Sumerpur police in Rajasthan announced the arrest of two repeat offenders linked to more than 36 theft, burglary and vehicle‑theft incidents reported in districts of Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Sumerpur police officials disclosed that a coordinated investigation uncovered over 36 cases of theft, burglary and vehicle theft spanning several districts of Rajasthan and Gujarat. The probe, which involved cross‑state intelligence sharing, identified a pattern of repeated offences attributed to the same individuals.
The crimes ranged from residential burglaries to the theft of motor vehicles, affecting both urban and rural areas in the two states. Authorities said the incidents were linked by similar modus operandi and recovered stolen items.
Based on the evidence, the police arrested two suspects described as "history shifters" – repeat offenders with a documented record of similar crimes. Both were taken into custody at the Sumerpur police station.
Investigators continue to examine the network behind the thefts and have pledged to pursue further leads to recover stolen property and prevent future incidents.
