Two men from Bihar nabbed with illegal guns near BSF camp in Agartala

Tripura police detained two men from Bihar after they were found in possession of illegal firearms near a Border Security Force (BSF) camp in the state capital, Agartala. The suspects were stopped during a routine check and a search revealed unlicensed weapons, prompting immediate arrest under the Arms Act.

Authorities said the individuals had no valid licence for the guns and were suspected of planning to smuggle the arms across state borders. The BSF camp, located on the outskirts of the city, has been a focal point for security operations given its proximity to the international border with Bangladesh.

The arrested persons have been handed over to the district magistrate for further investigation, and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. No injuries or casualties were reported during the operation.
