German and Slovak nationals drowned in the swimming pool of a luxury hotel in Bengaluru, while a US guest and a pool attendant were injured during rescue attempts.
A tragic incident unfolded at a five‑star hotel in Bengaluru when a German and a Slovak national lost their lives after drowning in the property’s swimming pool. The victims, who were staying at the hotel as tourists, were found unresponsive in the water and could not be revived despite immediate medical attention.
Emergency responders were called to the scene, and during the rescue operation a guest from the United States and a pool attendant sustained injuries while attempting to pull the victims out of the water. Both the American guest and the attendant received on‑site first aid and were later taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Hotel management has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and confirmed that the police and local authorities have been notified. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the drowning and to assess whether any safety protocols were breached.
Consular officials from Germany, Slovakia and the United States have been informed, and they are coordinating with the hotel and local police to assist the families of the deceased and the injured parties.
