An instructor and a trainee died when their training aircraft went down near the Ganga Barrage in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Kanpur authorities confirmed that a training aircraft crashed close to the Ganga Barrage, killing both the flight instructor and the trainee on board. The incident was reported by local media and emergency services rushed to the site, but the two occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary statements from the Uttar Pradesh aviation department indicated that the aircraft was engaged in a routine training sortie when it lost control and descended into the water near the barrage. Rescue teams recovered the wreckage and retrieved the bodies for identification.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been notified and a formal investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash. Officials have urged other flight schools to review safety protocols while the investigation proceeds.

Family members of the deceased have been informed, and a condolence message was issued by the state government expressing sorrow over the loss of the young trainee and his mentor.
