Two Escapees Jump From Jalandhar Court Roof, Suffer Broken Legs, Appear in Court Tuesday

Two suspects who leapt from the roof of Jalandhar’s district court to evade arrest sustained serious leg fractures and were presented before the court on Tuesday after receiving medical treatment.
On Monday, two individuals attempted to evade police custody by leaping from the roof of the Jalandhar district court building in Punjab. The sudden jump caused them to fall several metres onto the ground outside the premises. Both men suffered severe fractures to their legs as a result of the fall.
Emergency services rushed the injured men to a nearby hospital where orthopedic surgeons confirmed multiple leg fractures. The victims received immediate medical attention and were stabilised before being transferred back to the police station for further processing.
Police officials said the suspects were initially detained in connection with a separate case when they tried to escape. After receiving treatment, the two were presented before the court on Tuesday, where they were formally charged and remanded in police custody.
The court proceedings were brief, focusing on the medical reports and the charges related to attempted escape and obstruction of justice. The incident has prompted the court administration to review security protocols at the building.
