Police in Adilabad have detained two men from Andhra Pradesh accused of duping local residents through fraudulent schemes.

Police in Adilabad arrested two men from Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday after a series of complaints from local residents who claimed they had been defrauded. The suspects allegedly promised high returns on investments and then disappeared with the money. Adilabad Police Commissioner S. R. Kumar said the arrests were part of an ongoing investigation into a network of fraudsters operating across state borders.

The arrested men were taken to the Adilabad Police Station where they were booked under the Indian Penal Code for criminal conspiracy and cheating. They are currently being held in custody while the police gather further evidence.

Victims of the alleged scams have filed complaints with the local police and are awaiting a formal charge sheet. The police have assured the public that they will pursue the case aggressively and seek maximum penalties under the law.

The incident highlights the growing concern over interstate fraud schemes targeting vulnerable communities in Telangana.
