The Election Commission of India has officially recognized TVK as a registered party in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, allocating the ‘Whistle’ symbol for its candidates.
The Election Commission of India (EC) has formally recognized the Tamil Nadu Vanniyal Katchi (TVK) as a registered political party, extending its status to both Tamil Nadu and the Union Territory of Puducherry.
With the EC’s approval, TVK will contest future elections under the ‘Whistle’ symbol, which has been allotted after the party satisfied all registration requirements.
Party leaders said the distinctive symbol will aid voters in identifying TVK on ballot papers and is expected to boost the party’s visibility ahead of the upcoming state and local polls.
The recognition follows a detailed application filed by TVK earlier this year, granting it the same privileges as other recognized parties, including access to electoral rolls and regulated campaign financing.
