Trump Calls Midterm Loss a 'Giant Step Back' in US History

Former President Donald Trump criticized the 2024 midterm election outcome, calling the Democratic takeover of both chambers of Congress a "giant step back" in American history. The results saw Democrats win control of the House and Senate, ending decades of Republican dominance in key swing states. Trump said the loss would be remembered as a historic setback for the United States, urging his supporters to regroup. Political analysts note the remarks reflect the broader partisan backlash, but no immediate policy changes are expected.
