Truck runs over sleeping man in Muzaffarpur, villagers say he was beaten and thrown into a pit

In the early hours of the day, a young man identified as Shankar Sahni was found sleeping on the side of a road in Ahiyapur, a locality of Muzaffarpur, Bihar. According to eyewitnesses, a truck approached, struck him, and after the impact the driver or accompanying persons allegedly assaulted him further before pushing his body into a nearby pit.

Villagers who witnessed the incident rushed the injured man to the nearest medical facility. He was admitted with serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment under medical supervision.

The case has drawn attention from local residents, who allege a brutal act of violence against a defenseless individual. Hospital officials confirmed that Shankar's condition remains critical, and his recovery is ongoing.
