Tripura to Convert Unused Tea Gardens into Industrial and Tourism Hubs, Says CM Manik Saha

Chief Minister Manik Saha told reporters that Tripura will repurpose large tracts of unused tea plantation land for industrial and tourism projects. The move is intended to diversify the state's economic base and generate employment in regions where tea cultivation has declined.\n\nThe government plans to identify suitable plots, clear legal hurdles and invite private investors to set up manufacturing units, hospitality facilities and related infrastructure. Officials said the initiative will be coordinated with the state's tourism department to create attractions that leverage Tripura's natural and cultural assets.\n\nWhile detailed project proposals are still being drafted, the administration expects the first phase of development to begin within the next twelve months.
