Tripura to Build 51 Shakti Peetha Replicas, Aims to Become Global Spiritual Hub

The state’s Minister of Tourism, Sushanta Chowdhury, unveiled the 51 Shakti Peethas Replica Project during a press briefing in Agartala. The initiative aims to replicate the revered Shakti Peethas, which are sacred sites linked to the goddess Shakti, across Tripura’s districts. By creating these replicas, the government hopes to attract pilgrims and tourists from across India and abroad, boosting local economies and preserving cultural heritage. The project will be phased, with initial sites to be built in the upcoming fiscal year. Officials said the replicas will adhere to traditional architectural styles while incorporating modern amenities.
