The Tripura government has announced a plan to achieve 500 MW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, aiming to boost clean‑energy generation in the state.
The state government of Tripura unveiled a roadmap to install 500 megawatts of renewable energy capacity by the end of the decade. The plan covers a mix of solar, wind and biomass projects that will be developed through public‑private partnerships and central‑government incentives.
Officials said the target aligns with India’s national renewable‑energy goals and is expected to cut the state’s reliance on coal‑based power. The scheme also aims to create jobs in construction, operations and maintenance of the new installations.
Funding will be sourced from state allocations, central schemes such as the PM‑KVIC’s renewable‑energy fund, and private investors. Detailed project proposals are slated for approval in the coming months, with the first solar parks expected to be commissioned by 2025.
