Tripura’s Panchayat Minister has asked the Union government for financial and technical assistance to develop Rudrasagar Lake into a landmark water body.
The Panchayat Minister of Tripura has formally approached the central government, seeking both financial and technical support to upgrade Rudrasagar Lake into a signature tourist and ecological destination. In a recent statement, the minister emphasized the lake’s untapped potential and the need for concerted effort to bring it on par with other iconic lakes in the country.
According to the minister, a developed Rudrasagar could boost local tourism, generate employment opportunities for surrounding communities, and enhance biodiversity conservation in the region. The lake’s scenic backdrop and cultural significance are seen as assets that, if properly harnessed, could attract visitors from across India and abroad.
The request includes allocation of central funds, inclusion of the project in relevant national schemes, and deployment of expert agencies for feasibility studies and implementation planning.
