Tripura's senior minister announced that ensuring a continuous power supply during the upcoming Durga Puja festivities is a top priority for the state government.
Agartala, Tripura – In a statement released ahead of the annual Durga Puja celebrations, a senior minister of the Tripura government emphasized that maintaining an uninterrupted electricity supply will be treated as a critical operational goal. The minister highlighted that power outages can disrupt religious rituals, cultural programs, and commercial activities that surge during the nine‑day festival.
The administration plans to deploy additional generators, reinforce transmission lines, and coordinate with the state electricity board to monitor load patterns in real time. Officials also indicated that contingency measures will be in place to address any unexpected faults, especially in densely populated urban wards where puja pandals are concentrated.
Stakeholders, including puja committee members and local business owners, welcomed the announcement, noting that reliable power is essential for lighting, sound systems, and safety arrangements. The minister assured that the government will allocate necessary resources to avoid any disruption that could affect devotees and visitors.
The statement comes as Tripura prepares for an expected influx of pilgrims from neighboring states, underscoring the importance of seamless infrastructure support during the festive period.
