The Tripura government has introduced an Integrated Health Management Information System aimed at digitising patient records and streamlining services across the state’s public hospitals.
The Health Department of Tripura announced the rollout of an Integrated Health Management Information System (IHMIS) designed to replace paper‑based records with a fully digital platform across all government hospitals and primary health centres.
IHMIS will capture patient details, treatment histories, lab reports and medication data in real time, allowing health workers to access information instantly and reducing administrative delays. The system also integrates with existing state health schemes, facilitating seamless claim processing and resource allocation.
Implementation will begin with a pilot in three districts, followed by a phased expansion to the remaining regions over the next twelve months. Training programmes for doctors, nurses and clerical staff are already underway to ensure smooth adoption.
Officials expect the digital shift to improve diagnostic accuracy, cut down on record‑keeping costs and enhance overall public health monitoring in Tripura.
