Tripura Human Rights Commission seeks report on alleged PM Poshan irregularities at Agartala school

The Tripura State Human Rights Commission has asked for a detailed report on alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Prime Minister's Poshan Abhiyaan at a school in Agartala.
The Tripura State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) issued a formal notice on Monday demanding a comprehensive report on suspected irregularities in the Prime Minister's Poshan Abhiyaan programme at a government school in Agartala. The commission said the request is part of its mandate to safeguard the rights of children and ensure that public welfare schemes are executed transparently.
According to the SHRC, preliminary observations suggest possible lapses in the distribution of nutrition kits and discrepancies in the accounting of funds earmarked for the scheme. The commission has asked the school administration, the district education office, and the state department overseeing the Poshan Abhiyaan to submit their findings within ten days.
State officials have acknowledged the commission's intervention and assured cooperation. They indicated that an internal audit is already underway and that any identified violations will be addressed under the relevant statutory provisions. The SHRC has warned that failure to provide the requested information could lead to further legal action.
