Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha toured the worst‑affected parts of Tripura after heavy rains, saying the government will implement a lasting fix to chronic waterlogging.
Tripura's Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha personally inspected the districts most hit by recent flooding, meeting residents whose homes and livelihoods have been disrupted by rising water levels. He noted that the rains have caused extensive waterlogging in low‑lying areas, hampering daily activities and damaging infrastructure.
During the visit, the CM pledged a comprehensive, long‑term plan to eliminate recurring water stagnation. He indicated that the administration will upgrade existing drainage networks, clear clogged channels and explore modern flood‑management techniques to ensure that the problem does not reappear each monsoon.
State officials were instructed to fast‑track the required works and coordinate with relevant agencies to mobilise resources. The CM assured the public that the measures will be monitored closely and that regular updates will be provided as the projects progress.
The inspection underscores the government's focus on disaster mitigation and infrastructure resilience as the region recovers from the latest deluge.
