Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha officially launched virtual classrooms across 240 remote schools in Tripura, aiming to enhance digital learning for students in hard‑to‑reach areas.

The Chief Minister of Tripura, Dr. Manik Saha, inaugurated a virtual‑classroom programme that will be rolled out in 240 schools situated in the state’s most inaccessible regions. The launch underscores the government’s commitment to bridge the digital divide that has long affected students in remote villages.

Under the scheme, each participating school will be equipped with video‑conferencing facilities, tablets or laptops, and broadband connectivity provided through state‑run networks. Teachers will receive training to deliver curriculum content live from central hubs, allowing pupils to attend lessons taught by specialist educators.

State education officials said the initiative aligns with Tripura’s broader agenda to modernise its schooling system and improve learning outcomes. By leveraging technology, the programme seeks to ensure that children in isolated areas receive the same quality of instruction as those in urban centres.

The rollout is scheduled to begin this month, with periodic assessments planned to gauge student engagement and academic performance. Authorities hope the model can be expanded to additional schools in subsequent phases.
