Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated an intensive care unit and a central sterile services department at the GBP Hospital in Tripura, marking a boost to the state's healthcare infrastructure.
The Chief Minister of Tripura, Dr. Manik Saha, presided over the inauguration ceremony of a new intensive care unit (ICU) and a Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) at the GBP Hospital today. The event was attended by senior health officials and hospital staff, who highlighted the importance of modernizing medical infrastructure in the state.
The newly commissioned ICU is equipped to handle critical patients with advanced monitoring and life‑support equipment, while the CSSD will centralise sterilisation processes to ensure higher standards of infection control across all hospital wards. Both facilities are expected to reduce patient referrals to distant tertiary centres.
In his address, CM Saha emphasized that strengthening tertiary care is a priority of his administration, noting that the upgraded units will improve treatment outcomes for residents of Tripura and neighboring regions. He urged the medical community to make full use of the new resources to deliver timely and quality care.
