Police checks under Section 163 at the Kalindi Kunj border during a Delhi protest caused a prolonged traffic jam, disrupting movement in the area.

Delhi police set up vehicle checks at the Kalindi Kunj border as part of a demonstration that turned into a crowd‑control operation. The checks were carried out under Section 163 of the Indian Penal Code, which authorises authorities to prevent obstruction of public ways.

The security measures resulted in a long queue of vehicles, creating a traffic jam that stretched for several kilometres. Commuters on both the Delhi‑Gurgaon corridor and local feeder roads reported significant delays, with some drivers waiting for over an hour to clear the checkpoint.

Police spokespersons confirmed that the enforcement was intended to maintain law and order during the protest and urged motorists to seek alternative routes. Traffic police were deployed to manage the congestion and to guide vehicles away from the affected stretch until normal flow could be restored.
