A resident of Mussoorie escorted a foreign visitor to the hill station, and both joined efforts to pick up litter left by tourists.
A resident of Mussoorie took a foreign friend on a short tour of the popular hill station, pointing out its scenic spots and local attractions. While walking along the popular promenade, the pair noticed a significant amount of litter discarded by visitors, ranging from plastic bottles to food wrappers.
Motivated by the sight, the two decided to collect the waste themselves, spending several minutes picking up debris and placing it in nearby bins. Their spontaneous cleanup effort drew the attention of a few other tourists, some of whom offered to help.
Local officials have repeatedly urged visitors to maintain the cleanliness of the fragile mountain environment, and this incident underscores the impact of individual responsibility. The man's initiative, combined with his guest's willingness to assist, serves as a modest example of community‑driven stewardship in Uttarakhand's prized tourist destinations.
