Tapas Dey, a senior TIPRA Motha leader and former Member of the Legislative Assembly from Tripura, died in Agartala on Sunday at the age of 80 following a prolonged illness.
He represented the Agartala constituency from 2018 to 2023 and was known for his active role in advocating for tribal rights and local development.
Party chief Pradyot Kishore, along with other senior leaders, released statements condemning the loss and pledged to continue Dey’s work.
Funeral arrangements are being organized by the party, with a memorial service scheduled for the coming days.
