A tiger that escaped from Rajasthan's Sariska Tiger Reserve was reported by motorists on the Alwar‑Jaipur road.

A tiger was sighted by several motorists traveling on the Alwar‑Jaipur highway early on Monday. The animal, which had strayed from the Sariska Tiger Reserve in Alwar district, was seen moving along the road near a local village. Authorities were alerted and forest officials have been dispatched to locate and safely capture the animal. The incident has prompted a temporary traffic advisory on the stretch of the highway while teams assess the situation. Residents in nearby villages have been advised to stay indoors and report any further sightings.

The Sariska Reserve, re‑populated with captive‑bred tigers after a 2005 disappearance, is under close monitoring. This sighting highlights the challenges of wildlife corridors intersecting with human‑occupied roads. Officials from the Rajasthan Forest Department said they are coordinating with police to ensure public safety while attempting a non‑lethal capture.

The department urged motorists to exercise caution, avoid approaching the animal, and immediately inform the nearest forest range office or police station. A team equipped with tranquilizer guns and a transport vehicle is expected to reach the location within hours.
