Three Thieves Arrested in Barwani’s Dhanoa Village Theft, Rs 1 Lakh Jewellery Seized

Barwani district police disclosed that three men were taken into custody on Saturday after a break‑in at a residence in Dhanoa village, located in the district’s Dhanora area. The suspects, identified as members of an inter‑state theft ring reportedly formed while they were incarcerated, were found in possession of silver jewellery valued at roughly one lakh rupees.

During the interrogation, the accused disclosed details of similar burglaries that had occurred in the nearby Varla and Naglawadi regions, indicating a pattern of night‑time raids following daytime activities such as petty trading. The recovered items include necklaces, bangles and a chain, all of which have been handed over to the local magistrate for further processing.

Senior Superintendent of Police (Crime) Ramesh Sharma said the operation was the result of coordinated intelligence work and that the team will continue to track any remaining members of the gang across state borders. The police have also urged residents to report suspicious activity promptly to help curb such organized thefts.
