Police in Himachal Pradesh detained three individuals after seizing a quantity of charas, a cannabis resin, during a recent operation.
Himachal Pradesh police announced the arrest of three suspects after a raid resulted in the seizure of charas, a form of cannabis resin. The operation, conducted by local law enforcement, uncovered a significant amount of the drug, prompting immediate detention of the individuals involved.
Authorities have not disclosed the exact weight of the charas recovered, but confirmed that the seizure aligns with ongoing efforts to curb narcotics trafficking in the state. The three arrested persons are currently being held for further interrogation and legal proceedings.
The police statement emphasized that the crackdown is part of a broader strategy to combat drug-related crimes in the region, which has seen periodic incidents of illicit substance movement due to its proximity to the Himalayan drug routes.
Investigators are continuing to trace the source of the seized charas and are expected to file formal charges against the detainees in the coming days.
