Police in Jalandhar conducted raids on three medical companies, confiscating medicines estimated at ₹3.30 lakh.
Jalandhar police launched coordinated raids on three medical firms operating in the city, citing violations of drug regulations. The operation, carried out by the district crime branch and health officials, targeted premises suspected of storing and distributing unapproved medicines.
During the searches, authorities seized pharmaceutical stock valued at approximately ₹3.30 lakh. The seized items included a range of prescription drugs that were not registered with the state drug control authority.
Investigators have opened a case under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and are probing the supply chain for possible illegal distribution. The firms are expected to appear before the magistrate for further questioning, and the seized medicines will be handed over to the state drug control department for proper disposal.
The police have urged other medical traders to comply with licensing norms to prevent similar actions in the future.
