Three people, including a medical student, were killed in three unrelated road crashes in Baghpur, Motihari and Darbhanga districts of Bihar, while a youth remains critically injured.
Three separate road accidents struck the districts of Baghpur, Motihari and Darbhanga in Bihar on Monday, leaving three people dead. The incidents occurred on different stretches of state highways and were unrelated to each other, according to local police reports.
Among the deceased was a 22‑year‑old medical student travelling to a college in Darbhanga. The other two victims were identified as a farmer from Baghpur and a shopkeeper from Motihari. A 19‑year‑old male who was riding a two‑wheeler in the Darbhanga crash sustained severe injuries and is being treated in intensive care.
Police and emergency services reached each crash site within minutes, cordoned off the roads and began rescue operations. The injured youth has been shifted to a tertiary care hospital in Darbhanga where doctors say his condition is critical but stable. Authorities have opened investigations to determine the exact cause of each collision and have urged motorists to observe speed limits and traffic rules.
The Bihar State Police have announced that they will increase patrolling on the affected highways and conduct awareness drives to prevent further loss of life on the state’s roads.
