Three officers from the Chhattisgarh State Administrative Service have been promoted to the Indian Administrative Service following a directive from the Department of Personnel and Training.

Three senior officers of the Chhattisgarh State Administrative Service were officially promoted to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) on Thursday, as per a directive issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). The promotion follows a rigorous selection process that evaluates performance, seniority and eligibility criteria set by the central government.

The DoPT order, released earlier this week, confirmed that the three officers had met all statutory requirements and were deemed fit for the IAS cadre. While the names of the officers were not disclosed in the press release, the promotion is part of a broader effort to strengthen the state’s administrative cadre with experienced personnel.

The promotion is expected to enhance the state’s governance capabilities, as IAS officers are entrusted with key policy implementation and administrative responsibilities across ministries and departments. Officials from Chhattisgarh’s Home Department welcomed the decision, noting that it reflects the state’s commitment to nurturing talent within its civil services.

The move also signals a growing trend of states promoting seasoned officers to the national service, thereby ensuring a smoother transition of experienced administrators into central roles. The promotion is likely to inspire other state officers to aspire for higher responsibilities within the IAS framework.
