Police in Khandwa have apprehended three of the five suspects accused of killing the sarpanch’s husband, while the remaining two are being pursued.
In Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh, police have arrested three individuals suspected of murdering the husband of the village sarpanch. The investigation, which began after the killing was reported, identified five persons as possible perpetrators. Of these, three have now been taken into custody, while the remaining two are still being pursued by law‑enforcement agencies.
Authorities say the motive appears to be related to extortion, as the victim was allegedly targeted for alleged dues. The arrests were made within 48 hours of the murder, according to the district police spokesperson.
The police have launched a manhunt for the two fugitives and have appealed to the public for any information that could lead to their capture. The case remains under active investigation.
