Three Arrested in Meghalaya Murder Case After Victim’s Car Found in Assam

Three men were taken into custody by Meghalaya police on Tuesday in connection with the murder of local resident Damehi Mulich. The arrests followed a lead that traced the victim’s car to a vehicle registration in Assam, prompting a joint investigation between the two states.
The suspects, aged between 25 and 32, were apprehended near the town of Jaintia Hills after a traffic stop. Police recovered the victim’s vehicle at a parking lot in Silchar, Assam, which helped confirm the link.
Investigators say the case is still under active inquiry, with forensic teams examining the vehicle for evidence and interviewing witnesses in both Meghalaya and Assam. The police have urged anyone with additional information to come forward.
