Three individuals were taken into custody in Gurgaon after police found foreign‑made pistols in their possession, raising suspicions of an extortion scheme.
Three men were arrested by the Gurgaon police on Tuesday after investigators discovered a set of foreign‑made pistols in their possession.
The weapons, reportedly manufactured outside India, were found in a vehicle parked near the city’s industrial area. Police say the firearms were not registered under any local license.
Authorities suspect the incident may be linked to an extortion plot, with the suspects allegedly threatening local businesses to demand money in exchange for “protection”. The police have not yet released details of the alleged victims.
A senior officer from the Gurgaon Police Department stated that the investigation is ongoing and that further arrests may be made as more evidence comes to light.
