Police in Ajmer have detained three suspects, including the alleged mastermind, for abducting RRB chief officer Ravi Kumar Meena and demanding a ransom of ₹51 lakh.
Earlier this month, a team of armed men seized Ravi Kumar Meena, the senior officer of the Rajasthan Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) in Ajmer, and demanded a ransom of 51 lakh rupees. The abduction caused alarm among railway staff and prompted an intensive police response.
Ajmer police launched a swift investigation, tracing the kidnappers’ communications and movements. Their efforts culminated in the arrest of three individuals, identified as the chief conspirator and two accomplices, who are now in custody.
According to the police spokesperson, the suspects had planned the kidnapping to extract the large sum and were apprehended before any payment could be made. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities probing possible links to broader criminal networks.
The RRB has assured employees that security measures are being reinforced at its offices, and the department is cooperating fully with law‑enforcement agencies to ensure the safe return of any remaining assets and to prevent future incidents.
