Rajasthan's Chittorgarh district special team and police arrested three suspects after uncovering a gang stealing diesel from trucks and tankers parked on the highway.
The Chittorgarh district special task force, in coordination with local police, conducted a raid on a diesel‑theft operation along a state highway. Investigators had received intelligence about a group siphoning fuel from parked trucks and tankers. During the operation, officers detained three individuals believed to be part of the gang.
Authorities say the suspects were caught in the act of attaching siphoning equipment to diesel‑filled vehicles, causing significant loss to transport operators. The arrested persons are now in police custody and will be presented before the magistrate for further legal action.
The police have launched a broader inquiry to identify any additional members and to recover the stolen fuel. This crackdown underscores the state's commitment to curbing organized fuel theft, which has been a persistent issue for logistics businesses in Rajasthan.
