Three accused arrested for looting pedestrians on Amarpatan highway, two sent to jail

Police units patrolling the Amarpatan highway in Madhya Pradesh intercepted three men accused of snatching belongings from pedestrians. The suspects were apprehended after a series of complaints from commuters travelling on the route, especially students returning from examinations.

Following the arrests, the local police station processed the detainees and transferred two of them to the district jail, while the third remains in police custody pending further investigation.

Authorities said the operation was part of an ongoing effort to curb petty crimes on busy inter‑state roads and to ensure safety for travelers in the region.
