Authors based in Thirsk have announced plans to convert their fantasy novels into a television series, as reported by The York Press.
A group of writers from the market town of Thirsk disclosed their intention to bring a series of fantasy novels to the small screen. The announcement was published in The York Press, confirming that the authors are actively seeking to develop a television adaptation.
The creators said the project will involve translating the books' imaginative worlds and characters into a format suitable for episodic storytelling. While no production company has been named, the authors indicated that discussions with potential partners are underway.
Industry observers note that the move aligns with a broader trend of adapting literary fantasy for television, a genre that has attracted sizable audiences in recent years. The authors hope the series will capture the same sense of adventure that readers have praised in the books.
Further details, including casting, budget and launch timeline, remain undisclosed as the development phase progresses.
