A resident of Thane was arrested on July 26 after stabbing his son to death during a domestic dispute in Uttan, following an attempt to protect his mother. Senior Inspector Subhashchandra N Markad of the Uttan Sagari police station, under the Mira Bhayandar‑Vasai Virar (MBVV) police commissionerate, confirmed the incident. Police say the altercation escalated when the father tried to intervene on behalf of his mother, leading to the fatal act. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene and is being held for further investigation. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses to establish the sequence of events.
